DEPARTMENT NO. 6 – FOODS
Judging: Monday at 10:30 am approximately

Exhibitors must be a resident of Perry County and have a membership or season ticket.  Entries are to be delivered to the Homemaking Building between 12 – 6 pm. on Sunday before the fair.  Entries can be made Thursday 5-7 pm prior to the fair.  Foods such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies and candy may be entered between 8 – 10 am. Exhibitors may enter only one item in each category per class.  In case of a single entry in a category, a 1st place ribbon and 2nd place money will be awarded.  Entries must be the work of the exhibitor and never entered at the Perry County previously.

Premiums: 1st – $3; 2nd – $2; 3rd – $1

Premiums and entries may be picked up Sunday after the fair between 10 – 2 pm ***Note*** Judging standards: overall appearance, color, unity, size, clarity of liquid, fullness or jars, tightness of seal and quality of product.

***NOTE*** All baking entries will be judged by the following criteria: flavor, presentation, texture.  No commercial mixes should be used.  After judging, baked goods may be removed leaving sample for display.
